Today I talked to someone about how I spend New Year's Eve, I told them that I spent it at home, with my best friend, watching movies. This person looked at me compassionately as if I complained that I didn't went to the party but stayed at home. It made me think about why people care so much about loud parties at the new year and why they can't understand that someone prefers to spent it calmly in a small group. The truth is that I'm happy because I spent this special day with a person that is important to me, having a great time and the place or circumstances didn't matter. It's a pity that some people treat it as something sad just because there were not many people and fireworks.
